I’ve been taking powdered collagen supplements for my skin and hair for a couple of years now. My hair grows like crazy! My understanding is that ingesting collagen can actually make the body produce more collagen. I recently ran across an article by Ray Peet (The Cancer Matrix) that said there is a definite link between collagen and cancer tumors. "In general, substances that increase collagen production are promoters of cancer and contribute to the progression of heart failure, and other degenerative changes.” Does this mean that collagen supplements could be promoting some types of cancers? Should we all stop taking collagen supplements immediately? Please advise.
